Each year, the Mason Contractors Association of America presents the C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to an individual who has provided exemplary leadership in advancing the masonry industry. All of the individuals who have received this prestigious award have demonstrated a tireless dedication to our industry through years of volunteer support and hard work. They have helped to ensure that our industry remains vital for the nearly 500,000 people employed through masonry.

President Frank Campitelli presented the 2008 C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to Paul Hoggatt, President of Hoggatt LP, located in Houston, TX at the MCAA Convention in Las Vegas, NV.

Paul Hoggatt joined the family business in 1964 upon graduation from Reagan High School in Houston. He has served in all positions throughout the company, starting as laborer to the current position of President.

After moving from the field into the office in the early 80’s, Paul spent a significant amount of time working to improve the masonry industry, as well as the construction industry overall. Paul has served as president of the Associated Masonry Contractors of Houston twice (1993, 2002-2003), the Houston chapter of ASA (1988), and the Texas Masonry Council (1998). He has also participated as chair of the training committee for AMCH for many years, as well as starting the first scholarship committee for the organization.

Nationally, Paul has served The Masonry Society as a director, and as chair of the Construction Practices committee. He has spent many years on various MCAA committees, including current activities on the Workforce Development Committee.

In 2002 Paul received the Lifetime Service Award from the Texas Masonry Council.

In addition to his own service, Paul continues to encourage and mentor his employees and fellow contractors to participate and serve the Masonry Industry.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my honor to present the 2008 C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to Paul Hoggatt," said Campitelli.
