Students in Todd Bonvechio’s masonry class at Buckeye Career Center recently participated in the annual Holiday Masonry Skills Competition at Buchtel Community Learning Center.

The competition, sponsored by the Ohio-Kentucky Administrative District Council for Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, included seven schools throughout Ohio. Students were divided into categories according to grade level with Ryan Daberko, of New Philadelphia, taking first place and Blaze Fox-Quillen, of Dover, taking second place in the junior division. Both students were awarded a professional grade level for placing in the event.
