Project Description

Splendora Elementary, currently know as Piney Woods Elementary, is located in Splendora, Texas just north of Houston, off of Highway 59. The school’s façade is usually detailed having three different colored brick, split faced CMU and cast stone in stack bond and running bond patterns with arched soldiers and rowlock accents and vertical and horizontal reveals.Camarata Masonry Systems provided the interior CMU walls, exterior CMU backup, exterior veneer CMU, interior and exterior face brick, and exterior cast stone. The project embodies the total masonry construction philosophy.

The interior CMU walls and backup utilized over 126,000 CMU. Foam fill insulation was installed at the Gym, Cafeteria, and Auditorium areas as a sound barrier for the classrooms. The exterior included 9,900 split face CMU 4” x 8” x 16” with red glazed brick accents. Camarata Masonry Systems installed over 220,000 field brick, 50,000 accent brick and custom cast stone throughout the project. Cast stone was used at window surrounds, column bases, column capitols and coping pieces to enhance the facades appearance.
