Project Description
A mixture of American and European architectural styles developed in San Diego during the 1920's and 1930's characterizes the theme of the San Elijo Hills community. The school takes its architectural cues from historic and regional references, and extends the community's architectural theme on a public scale.
The block pattern throughout the project reflects the natural stone configuration making the buildings blend with the adjacent landscape. Barrel vault trusses consisting of 16"
block conform to the barrel arch ceiling supporting the slight arch over the theater stage.
The clock tower stands in front of the rotunda library as a monument centerpiece of the community.
