Project Description
This addition to an existing pool area provides a place to entertain and retreat from the hot sun with two full-service bars and a decorative pergola above for shade. Complete with a seatwall, patio, and outdoor kitchen and bar, this adult entertainment area serves as its own destination away from the pool and home.
We provided a new custom outdoor kitchen including a bar with brick and precast limestone finishes. A new finish was also added to the existing grill. The brick finish on each of these components incorporates accents to match the windows and chimney on the house. Precast limestone water table and balusters provide a formal style to contrast the built-in stainless steel appliances of the bar. These appliances include two sinks, a refrigerator, and an icemaker; they are complemented by a two-inch Honed Bluestone countertop with a bull-nosed edge and custom tile backsplash with flower coins on the bar and grill.
For ideal entertainment purposes, the wood Pergola has a built-in audio system and a custom retractable fabric awning to keep cool on a hot day. At night, built-in low voltage lighting illuminates the outdoor kitchen, bar, and masonry structures. Day or night, homeowners can comfortably enjoy a favorite show or important game on their outdoor television.
Beneath the kitchen and surrounding areas, a natural bluestone patio set in a random regular pattern on an engineered slab with a built-in drainage system provides firm, dry footing for family and friends. Brick walls and a staircase with precast limestone caps surround the new outdoor dining area for a fitting entrance into this oasis of comfort.
The outdoor kitchen and patio serve as the finishing touch to this beautiful backyard. The masonry showcases masterful detail in all its practicality. The kitchen appliances and entertainment devices fit seamlessly into the stonework and pergola as the masonry achieves a perfect balance between stone and steel. The details and finishes blend the dining area perfectly with the home. All in all, the project achieves a high level of style and comfort with intricate detail and sensible utility.
