Project Description
Leonard Masonry restored beauty to Forest Park's Emerson Grand Basin with intricate masonry landscaping.
The contractor recommended cast stone as an alternative to crumbling limestone walls, providing cost savings. The resulting installation of all new bridges, benches and skirting at boat landing areas included more than 9,000 pieces of cast stone. The contractor also installed New Caledonia granite with a flamed finish for the paving and steps leading down to the landing area.
Leonard Masonry prevailed beyond the challenges of a cold winter, and the result is a beautifully landscaped basin that recalls the wonder of the 1904 World's Fair.
