Carl Wanke Elementary School
San Antonio, TX
Mason Contractor:
Brazos Masonry, Inc.
Architect:
Noonan & Dockery & Rittiman Architects
Project Description
Named for a true pillar of the region's educational community, Carl Wanke Elementary was built in testament to the expressions "every 'I' dotted" and "every 'T' crossed." This architectural firm specifically sets aside the ASTM allowances for blemishes, chips, cracks, and workmanship tolerances in masonry, to deliver the best masonry product humanly possible. Scrutinized daily by special inspectors, and weekly by the architectural team, absolutely nothing but artisan-standard masonry would suffice for each and every piece incorporated into their projects.
We fulfilled or exceeded their expectations more than 130,000 times in our CMU efforts. We did it again, in excess of 300,000 times, with modular brick. We finished all of it with more than 700 glass block and several hundred custom clay solar tile.
This group is aware that they have a reputation for discerning tastes in masonry products and "old school" demands in its workmanship. Our commitment to excellence in masonry, as theirs, is unwavering. This heaven-made match of architectural and masonry firms resulted in their publicly recommending and approving Brazos Masonry for all future masonry needs for this school district.
