Project Description
This project used traditional masonry materials to produce an appealing and comforting structure to patients and visitors.
The nine story building required 650,000 OCHS Modular Facebrick with soldier and radius accents. 23,000 pieces of Arriscraft Manufactured Stone in Dressed and Rocked finish. In addition, there are Snow White Astra Glaze units, 30,000 Natural Gray CMU's, Architectural Precast sills and caps from American Artstone and features 2'' thick panel stone from Cold Spring Granite.
This major hospital addition showcases masonry and involved challenging scaffold and access conditions. A radius rotunda was detailed by the architect as the featured design element and not surprisingly, the rotunda leaned on masonry for the rotunda element.
