The MCAA wants your input on what you would like to see us pursue within ASTM.
The MCAA is looking to go on offense with regard to ASTM. We are looking to begin to drive issues at the ASTM level that are important to contractors and the masonry industry as a whole in lieu of just reacting to what other parties are doing in their own interest.

Please submit your ideas / items for MCAA to pursue at ASTM to jeffb@masoncontractors.org no later than April 25, 2011. These will be reviewed by the MCAA Technical Committee and pursued in the near future.

We are also always looking for contractors to join ASTM and be an active voter on committees. This does not require travel as most ballots are responded to via e-mail.

Similar to our position at ASTM just a few years ago, MCAA is sorely under represented at MSJC. This committee is responsible for the TMS 402 / 602 document that our entire industry is governed by.

The committee issues ballots similar to ASTM and meets twice each year. Responses to the ballots and attendance at these meetings are mandatory - you will be removed from the roster if you fail to meet these requirements. While this is a commitment that cannot be lightly made, it is also extremely important to get more contractors on this committee due to the impact on our daily operations.

Please consider serving. If you are interested and need more information contact the MCAA office today at 800-536-2225 and ask to speak with Jeff.
