Brick Masonry Advances At ONE Tampa As CMU Infill Nears Roofline

Brick and block work are becoming easier to spot on ONE Tampa as the 42-story condo tower continues to close in at 520 N. Tampa St. The project, developed by Kolter Urban with Moss Construction as general contractor, is now Tampa’s tallest residential building, and exterior crews are pushing facade work up the tower and across the podium.

Recent progress updates show glazing well underway, with floor-to-ceiling window assemblies filling punched openings up to the high 30s in floor count. Perimeter infill is moving even faster, with concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls reported up to the 41st floor, leaving only the uppermost level more exposed while interior build-out follows behind the enclosure work.

At the roofline, a concrete parapet is largely in place, and work continues around the elevator bulkhead and the tower’s crown. Kolter Urban has said construction is underway on the illuminated crown, which is also designed to house portions of the building’s mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

For mason contractors, the most direct street-level masonry story is on the podium. Crews are hand-laying warm brown brick at the northeast corner of E. Twiggs St. and N. Tampa St., building out a five-story section meant to recall the former Tarr Furniture Building that once stood on the site. The redesigned podium frontage includes arched window openings, decorative stone detailing, and blackened steel elements as part of an agreement between the developer and the City of Tampa.

The building’s completion is listed for summer 2027.
