MCAA Social Channels Reach Over 110,000 During 2020 World of Concrete

Algonquin, Il., February 10, 2020 – The Mason Contractors Association of America and affiliated MASONRY Publications set a new social media record during the 2020 World of Concrete. A mixture of photos, event coverage, live videos, and messages from sponsors ensured social media users could find whatever they were looking for.

In addition to reaching approximately 110,000 unique people during the week, the MCAA’s social media channels saw just under 16,000 post engagements in the same time frame.

“Increasingly, we’re understanding the importance of platforms like Facebook and Instagram not just to promote our Association and articles on our websites, but to offer unique content that complements what we do elsewhere. People who may not have known about us otherwise are certainly finding out about us through social media,” said Jeff Buczkiewicz, MCAA President and CEO.

A big highlight on social media was a live video of the MCAA’s Fastest Trowel on The Block competition as it happened, which reached approximately 23,000 people and had about 13,000 views as of February 7th. New this year were booth visits with MCAA Strategic Partners, who were showing off their newest products at the World of Concrete.

“Social media was a priority this year, based off of internal research that suggests a large percentage of the industry gets news there. We had a great plan going into the conference, but we’re shocked at the sheer amount of people we were able to reach. Our entire team worked hard and pulled it off wonderfully,” said Dan Kamys, MCAA Editorial Director.

The social media content was augmented with two small Facebook ad campaigns targeting booth visits and membership with the MCAA. Those campaigns geo-targeted masonry professionals within a one-mile radius of the Las Vegas Convention Center and reached approximately 16,000 with over 600 engagements.
