Applications for the 2013 Minnesota Concrete & Masonry Contractors Association Excellence Contest are now being accepted. The application process runs August 1-31, 2012. Guidelines and applications are available on-line at www.mcmca.com or by calling the MC&MCA office at 651-293-0892.

Please read the guidelines carefully. There have been some changes this year. The Excellence Committee, in an effort to control costs, recommended to the Board that some categories be combined and that projects located in greater Minnesota (defined as more than 75 miles outside of the 694 &35W exchange) will be judged by photographs submitted by MC&MCA members. If your project is located in greater Minnesota, be sure to submit enough quality photographs so that the judges can determine the true workmanship in the project. Also, it is extremely important to include strong verbal descriptions of all projects submitted.

Last year, there were twenty-nine masonry entries and ten concrete entries. Despite the challenging economy, we hope to exceed these numbers for our 2013 contest! To see photos of last year’s winning projects, visit www.mcmca.com.

MC&MCA sponsors the Excellence Contest as a way to recognize quality architectural design and workmanship in the area of concrete and masonry and promote increased public awareness of the advantages of our industry’s products and services.
