The aptly named Fresh from the West Sunset Celebration Weekend will once again gather food, design and culture lovers in Menlo Park, Calif., and this year Belgard® Hardscapes and expert craftsman Chip Wade were onsite to educate homeowners and share the latest outdoor living trends.

Attendees of Celebration Weekend on June 2 and 3 were able to see Belgard throughout the weekend at the Belgard Mobile Showroom. Attendees were able to meet and greet with expert craftsman and Belgard spokesman Chip Wade, who took photos, answered your outdoor living questions, and spoke about “Creating the ultimate backyard retreat” on Saturday and about “Making the most of your outdoor spaces” on Sunday. Attendees also enjoyed the Ultimate Outdoor Living Room complete with a paver patio by Belgard located on the Northeast side on the premises.

“This is our first year as an official sponsor of Sunset Celebration Weekend and we couldn’t be more excited to jump right in,” said Ken O’Neill, vice president of marketing for Belgard® Hardscapes. “We were able to make our mark on last year’s event with the donation of materials for the new walkways, and we’re glad to be on site to provide invaluable information to homeowners.”

Last year, Sunset Magazine replaced their aged and cracked asphalt pathways that lined their expansive four-acres of corporate gardens with nearly 14,000 square feet of Belgard® Hardscapes paver walkways. The magazine chose to use Belgard's Cambridge Cobble pavers to create their serpentine walkways because of the sturdy quality and classic tailored look that complemented their eclectic gardens.

"Asphalt has a tendency to crack and crumble as it ages due to changes in temperature and moisture, and repairs are often expensive and unsightly," says O'Neill. "However, paver walkways are stronger and more flexible to climate changes, making them more resistant to cracking. With their new walkways, Sunset is well prepared to handle the more than 18,000 expected visitors."
