As of Jan. 1, 2012, the Masonry Institute of Maryland (MIMI) and the Professional Masonry Association (PMA) have merged with The Masonry Institute Inc. (MI). The merged group will be known as the Masonry Institute Inc.

“We are all pleased to now have the opportunity to join forces, share resources and experience to market and promote our masonry industry in a unified manner,” says Joyce Greer, executive director.

Greer also has achieved the LEED Green Associate credential through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Marketing the sustainable attributes of masonry will be a continuing goal for Greer as she pursues further credentialing.

“Being a member of USGBC and James River Green Building Council in Richmond has afforded me the ability to have a voice for our industry through the interaction with these groups,” she says.
