JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK], has expanded its LiftPod® Demo Tour to include more than 70 locations around the country. The recently announced 2011 tour, which concludes in September, will bring the LiftPod family of products to facility managers across the nation, providing them with the opportunity to see the LiftPod up close and in action.

“Based on the success of our previous tour, we decided to bring the LiftPod to a larger audience of facility managers and give them the opportunity to see the work platform in action,” said Randy Marzicola, director — channel development, JLG Industries. “People who see a demonstration of the LiftPod quickly recognize its capabilities and appreciate the benefits it offers in terms of safety, efficiency and affordability.”

JLG representatives will drive three LiftPod vans to various locations to answer questions about the product and provide hands-on demonstrations. Routes for the vans are available on Google maps.

Representatives will showcase both the FS80, which is designed with a 14-foot working height and 41-inch base, and the newly announced FS60 during the demo tours. The FS60 has a 30-inch base, which enables operators to move the LiftPod through doorways without having to take it apart. The new model is also designed with maneuverability in mind with non-marking rear caster wheels, and has a 12-foot working height and 6-foot standing height.

The LiftPod provides enhanced stability, allowing workers to move hands-free in a 360-degree range of motion. In addition, workers are not required to utilize the OSHA-regulated two-man operation rule with the LiftPod, which increases worker productivity. The units consist of three lightweight components for simple assembly — less than 30 seconds — and disassembly. The LiftPod can be carried and moved by one person, and when disassembled both models fit in the back of a pick-up truck, van or SUV for portability between work sites.

The LiftPod is powered by an 18-volt cordless drill or an optional Power Pack Kit for ease of elevation. The FS80 and FS60 both have a 330-pound rated total capacity, which also includes an attachable work tray that holds up to 33 pounds of tools and materials.
