Report of the MCAA Certification Committee

Words: David Hill

Update on Numbers

The MCAA currently has 17 contractors certified. There are five contractors sitting for the test at this year’s convention and there are 50 contractors working toward their certification. There are currently 478 education offerings available through our approved provider network. We are pleased to report that since certification has started we have offered nearly 600 approved provider educational opportunities. One thing that can be said for certification is that it has brought and made educational opportunities far more plentiful than in the past.

Revocation Policy Update

The certification committee is working on the revocation policy and is working on a process not to renew contractors who have outstanding issues not resolved when they are up for re-certification. A process for immediate revocation is also being developed for situations where there may be a clear violation of the designation to be certified. Expect to see full details on this late Spring or very early Summer.
