Missing Something in Your Vo-Tech Curriculum?

Words: Melissa AguiarAll education professionals know what an important role vocational training plays in our nation's schools. When a child is prepared with the skills to enter the workforce armed with knowledge and pride in craftsmanship, his confidence and success rate sky-rockets. Whether or not your school is focused on academics and college-bound students, there is room to impart the leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development experiences vocational training offers.

Masonry programs are available at many secondary and post-secondary schools across the country as part of the vo-tech curriculum, but the industry wants to expand our presence. If you do not have an established masonry vo-tech offering, the Mason Contractors Association of America will work with you to create a hands-on training program. MCAA also has partners within the industry to provide instructors and training materials for your masonry classroom.

Contact the MCAA's Director of Workforce Development at 800-536-2225 or careersinmasonry@masoncontractors.org to discuss your school's need and begin the process of developing a masonry program.
