Hyster donates Walkie Pallet Truck to American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts

Words: Nicole BekkenHyster Company has donated a W50Z walkie pallet truck to assist the American Red Cross in disaster relief efforts. The truck is being used in the organization’s Atlanta, Ga. warehouse to move critical supplies supporting relief efforts of natural and man-made disasters.

“Hyster is pleased to support the outstanding humanitarian efforts of the American Red Cross,” said Joe Bugica, Vice President of Marketing for Hyster. “Given the organization’s geographic footprint, and the volume of goods moved through their relief facilities, the American Red Cross will benefit substantially from having a dependable Hyster® truck to help them not only operate efficiently on a day-to-day basis, but more importantly, in greater times of need.”

Featuring a versatile design and exceptional maneuverability, the Hyster® W50Z walkie pallet truck is ideally suited to increase throughput and productivity — key factors that will help the American Red Cross enhance preparation and delivery of disaster relief supplies.

“This donation is an example of how collaborating with generous organization’s such as Hyster Company, makes our work possible,” said Michael Parks, CEO for the Northeast Ohio Region of the American Red Cross. “Our volunteers will greatly appreciate this equipment when they need to rapidly move relief supplies during times of disaster.”

MH Equipment, a Hyster® dealer located in Cincinnati, Ohio, helped Hyster facilitate the donation by prepping the truck free of charge for shipment to the American Red Cross warehouse in Atlanta, Ga. Additionally, Briggs Equipment, a Hyster dealer in Atlanta, Ga., is providing the American Red Cross with 12 months of free maintenance for the donated truck.
