HPS Schönox, Spartan Surfaces sign distribution agreement

Words: Karen BallekHPS Schönox and Spartan Surfaces announced that they have reached an agreement that will result in a new division for Spartan Surfaces that will distribute Schönox products from Virginia to southern New Jersey. Spartan Distribution will carry the full line of Schönox subfloor products including primers and moisture mitigation systems, patching and smoothing products, floor leveling compounds, and adhesives. Headquartered in Forest Hill, Maryland, Spartan Surfaces has flooring experts in place throughout the region. HPS Schönox has expanded its team of subfloor technical associates to support this area and the extensive growth of Spartan Surfaces.

Already well known in the industry for its sales and consulting expertise, with this agreement Spartan Surfaces is expanding its business to encompass distribution including a truck fleet to quickly service the region. Spartan Surfaces is targeting the healthcare, education, corporate, and multi family sectors where it already has strong relationships and where subfloors are such an important issue with successful flooring projects. “Incorporating Schönox into our discussions and plans with specifiers, end users, and contractors has improved satisfaction with every flooring project and is an important move for us strategically,” explained Kevin Jablon, Spartan Surfaces President. “Solving subfloor issues using the Schönox subfloor product array positively impacts our efforts with any flooring material used in the project.”

HPS Schönox has greatly expanded its product distribution nationwide including technical support teams to work closely in the field with contractors and installers. “We took a close look at the important Mid-Atlantic region and concluded that the work ethic and forward-leaning business approach held by Spartan Surfaces paired with their new distribution division was a natural fit with us,” commented Thomas Trissl, HPS Schönox Principal (founder and former owner of Centiva.) “Kevin and I share a common viewpoint regarding our commitment to customers and the flooring industry that will be fruitful in the region and beyond in coming years.”
