Celebrating Women in Construction Week

Words: Isa Stein

The MCAA would like to thank all women in the construction and masonry industry as we celebrate Women in Construction Week. In honor of their formation, this week was developed in 1960 by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). According to NAWIC's website, NAWIC "has over 115 chapters throughout the United States that provide its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more. NAWIC continues the vision of its founding members by advocating for the value and impact of women builders, professionals and tradeswomen in all aspects of the construction industry." This week, March 5th-March 11th, is the time to celebrate and promote women in the industry.

Happy National Women in Construction Week!
