Aggregate Industries US was recognized for occupational safety standards.
Aggregate Industries US (AIUS), a member of the Holcim Group, announced that two of its Midwest Region facilities have been recognized by the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association (WRMCA) for achieving the highest occupational safety standards. Bassett RMX Plant and Algonquin RMX Plant were honored at the WRMCA annual convention on the 7th and 8th of March held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Littleton Quarry located in Massachusetts received the gold environmental excellence award. Algonquin Sand and Gravel located in Illinois and Accokeek Sand and Gravel located in Maryland received the silver award, and Longmont Sand and Gravel located in Colorado received the bronze award.

"We applaud our employees for upholding and promoting the highest standards of safety, one of the foundations of Aggregate’s mission," said Bernard Terver, president and chief executive officer of Aggregate Industries US. "This recognition is a testament to Aggregate’s policies and training which are meant to ensure a culture of safety."

The WRMCA Occupational Safety Awards recognize those facilities that have the lowest incident and severity rates in their class. Bassett RMX Plant was awarded as a Category I facility and Algonquin RMX Plant was awarded as a Category III facility. Both AIUS plants had a zero incident rate.

The WRMCA is a local trade association that represents the producers of ready-mixed concrete in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The association advances industry interests through legislative action, promotion, and education. The WRMCA creates industry-wide benchmarks for the betterment of quality and safety in the concrete community.
