It's Time You Joined the MCAA

President’s Message

By

If you are like most contractors, you keep close tabs on your expenses. The cost of running your business has the most impact on your bottom line, and you control every dollar that your company spends.

That said, think about what will it cost your company if your workers have to remove all materials and equipment from your scaffolding at the end of every work shift, and then restock it at the beginning of the next shift? What will it cost your company if you have to set-up scaffolding on both sides of a block wall when you grout? What will it cost you to provide yearly medical exams and x-rays, provide respirators for every employee, and provide showers, sterile lunchrooms and special clothing at every jobsite? What will it cost your firm if you have to accept all delivered materials, sight unseen, as soon as truck arrives at your job?

I am willing to bet that these regulations would cost your bottom line hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, and would probably bankrupt the majority of the mason contractors in our industry.

Thanks to the efforts of the Mason Contractors Association of America, its staff, and its active members, we have defeated initiatives that would have made all of these potentially devastating requirements a reality.

Isn't it time you join the MCAA and provide your dues dollars, if not your active participation, to expand our efforts to protect you and your future. Joining the MCAA costs a fraction of what you would incur if we were unable to defeat these cost-prohibitive initiatives.

You may think that alone you will have little affect on the future?that you won't be missed if you don't join?but that is wrong! You and thousands of other mason contractors acting together can change our industry.

As a contractor, I know that things can be tight financially. You probably have thousands tied up in receivables, and may sometimes struggle to make payroll. And if those GC's just paid you what you are owed, you would have enough money to pay the national association for 10 years! But the fight to protect our industry is too important to ignore- we need you as a dues paying member beginning today.

Call us to join. Fax or mail the application from inside this magazine. Go online and join over the internet. Just join today. You will feel that you are actually doing something to help your company's future. Act now...we look forward to welcoming you into the MCAA!
