Ground conditions must be considered in all situations.
“Always check ground conditions to ensure the stability of powered access equipment.” — This is IPAF’s message to the access industry at the APEX show taking place from 14 to 16 September 2011 at the MECC in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

IPAF’s stand 1145 will focus on the proper assessment of ground conditions and the correct use of stabilisers, outriggers and spreader plates. With the help of posters and videos, experts are on hand to explain the potential risk of tip-overs in cases where ground support requirements have not been adequately addressed. Visitors to the stand can also experience first-hand, using a simple but effective model, the “wobbly” and destabilising effects when spreader plates are not used.

APEX, the international show dedicated to access equipment, is supported by IPAF and sponsored by Access International, the official magazine of IPAF.

IPAF is holding several meetings during APEX, including:

IPAF Council Meeting (members only)
14 September, 9:00, MECC

IPAF Italian Country Council Meeting (members only)
14 September, 14:00 — 16:00, MECC

IPAF Manufacturer’s Technical Committee Meeting (members only)
15 September, 9:00, MECC

More information is at IPAF Events.

The fifth Europlatform access rental conference, which IPAF is jointly organising with Access International, is taking place on 13 September, the day before the start of APEX, also at the MECC in Maastricht.

The conference will focus on the theme “Financing Growth” and the strong line-up of speakers includes Haulotte COO Alexandre Saubot, former Lavendon CEO Kevin Appleton and Loxam’s mergers and acquisitions specialist Maëg Videau.

A panel discussion will round up the conference, which will be held in English, with simultaneous translation into German, Italian and Spanish. There will be an evening reception after the conference closes on 13 September.

Europlatform is the conference for access industry professionals and highly recommended for anyone who owns or manages an access fleet. The conference programme and booking details are at www.europlatform.info.
