A day-long training workshop on environment-friendly block brick production and house construction using block bricks was held in Kendua upazila in Bangladesh’s Netrakona district at Advance Eco Bricks.
Organized by the district’s Environment Department, the session brought together 20 masons and block brick production workers for hands-on instruction focused on proper block brick use in construction.
Assistant Director Md Abdullah Al Matin urged builders and producers to use automatic and block bricks instead of traditionally fired bricks, pointing to pollution concerns tied to conventional brick firing. He also told participants that block brick production workers have strong job prospects and should keep building their skills.
District Environment Department Inspector Mahabubul Islam and Accountant Shafiul Alam Rana attended the program, along with Advance Eco Bricks Managing Director Tafazzal Tapu, local entrepreneurs, NGO representatives, and journalists.
For contractors and crews, the takeaway is simple: when a market starts pushing new masonry units, training becomes part of the job. Shops that take time to learn proper block brick handling and placement can reduce jobsite mistakes, speed up crew onboarding, and be ready when owners and local officials start asking for lower-impact building materials.
