Guatemala Classrooms Use Eco-Bricks Made From 8,000 Plastic Bottles

In a rural area of Granados, Guatemala, a school construction effort is turning plastic waste into part of the wall assembly. Students, families, and volunteers reused more than 8,000 plastic bottles by converting them into ecobricks, a method that packs PET containers with bags, wrappers, and other plastic waste to give the bottles firmness, then incorporates them into classroom walls.
