Tripura Opens 75-Day Brick Mason Training For Returnees

The Directorate of Skill Development in Tripura has launched residential, short-term skill training programs at the Construction Workers Training Institute Tripura (CWTIT) in Khumulwng under the Returnees Rehabilitation Initiative. The program includes training for 55 individuals and is built around practical, employment-oriented skills tied to sustainable livelihoods and self-employment.

Officials inaugurated the initiative in West Tripura, including District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, IAS, and Director of Skill Development Pradeep K, IAS.

Two courses are part of the rollout. Tripura Small Industry Corporation Ltd will conduct a 60-day tailoring program for 25 candidates. At the same time, 30 candidates will complete a 75-day brick mason training program at CWTIT.

For builders and construction employers, programs with a defined schedule and a residential format support steady attendance and consistent progress. For the masonry trade in particular, a focused brick mason track helps expand the pool of workers who are trained for jobsite demands and who are ready to pursue employment or self-employment opportunities after graduation.
