2014 MCAA Convention

Words: John AbanathyI would like to send a personal invitation to every member of the MCAA to join us this January in Las Vegas for the 2014 MCAA Convention at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry.

The Convention is the perfect opportunity for you and your company to learn and participate in many new and exciting happenings taking place at the MCAA and in our industry today.

We are very excited about the schedule this year. The education opportunities will be plentiful and help you get one step closer to earning your Certification.

The MCAA’s Masonry Skills Challenge, the MCAA’s Fastest Trowel on the Block and the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® will once again take place on Wednesday during Masonry Madness. You will not want to miss these great competitions.

I am excited to have a day to enjoy our trade and take in all the wonderful skills of our current workforce and future workforce Wednesday afternoon. We will need all the support we can get that day as we are increasing our need for judges and helpers throughout the day.

We will conduct our meetings similar to how we have done in the past with an open forum and all committees reporting in one large meeting.

Our South of 40 group is excited to once again offer a fun event for our membership. The great news is they have selected Bahama Breeze which is right down the street from the Las Vegas Convention Center.

And don’t forget the closing night at Lawry’s where we’ll induct new members into the Masonry Hall of Fame and Mark Kemp will become the new Chairman of the MCAA.

I look forward to seeing you all in Las Vegas!
