Dold Highlights MCAA MAC PAC Event

Words: Jeff BuczkiewiczFormer Congressman Bob Dold from Illinois was the guest speaker for the 2013 MCAA MAC PAC event in Las Vegas.

The Congressman spoke of the need for business people such as he to hold public office. Congressman Dold spoke of his roots from one of the oldest family owned pest control companies as a great background that led him to public life.

"As business people we see things differently than others do. We understand what it is like when the government imposes regulations and tax laws that impede our ability to grow and in some cases cause us to downsize," said Dold.

The Congressman discussed his experience in Washington DC for about 15 minutes before taking questions from the group on a variety of topics including the impact of health care on businesses and the upcoming immigration fix.

The MCAA's MAC PAC event is the largest fundraiser of the year for the MCAA PAC and plays a very important role in the MCAA's legislative agenda. Beverly McCauley, MCAA legislative co-chair commented, "The 2012 election nearly depleted the funds of our PAC and it is critical for us to raise additional dollars to have successes in the upcoming new Congress."
