The Associated General Contractors of America named Turner as one of the nation’s safest construction companies. This is the second time Turner received a first place finish in the “Over Four Million Hours” category. The award from the AGC honors companies that go above and beyond to place jobsite safety at a premium.

When evaluating companies, judges look for specific evidence highlighting a firm’s commitment to safety through statistics tracking, active employee participation, loss prevention, training measures, hazard control and other unique innovations or programs that heighten awareness.

Turner’s Building L.I.F.E.; Ladders Last, and Nothing Hits the Ground programs, along with specific innovative safety programs were highlighted for the judges during the final presentation. In addition, Turner's more than 30 individual training programs including OSHA 30 and 10 hour, the annual safety stand down and safety tune-ups were emphasized.

The award was accepted by Cindy DePrater, Vice President of Employee Health and Safety, and Edward McNeill, Senior Vice President of Operations. “Ultimately, it comes down to the hard work of every one out there who embraces our safety culture daily,” said DePrater. McNeill added, “The AGC Safety Award is truly a great honor and validation to the significant practices Turner has supported.”
