Words: Mason ContractorsJoin the MCAA in this year's newest addition to World of Masonry.

Live "How To" education action stations will take place on the show floor during World of Masonry. Every program is free and is one hour in length and is approved for one MCAA Certification credit.

Demonstrations offered include:

Hydro Mobile — Mast Climbers Operating and Dismantling

A mast climber program covering the following key points: training requirements for user/operator and erector and dismantler, what supervisors and safety people need to look for and a daily inspection checklist will all be a part of this course.

Mortar Net — Flashing in a Flash

This course will identify common flashing materials and methods that are used in both cavity-wall and CMU-wall masonry construction. The presenter will also discuss key related problems that can occur in masonry walls when flashing and drainage matters are not properly detailed or installed. The attendee will participate in hands-on demonstrations of more efficient ways to deal with these issues.

QUIKRETE - Self Consolidating Grout

This program will cover the use of SCG in efficient masonry construction. In addition, the following will be covered: properties of SCG, mixing procedures and potential cost savings.

SPEC MIX — Benefiting from Factory Pre-Blended Mortar

Attendees will learn the cost, quality and production advantages of using factory pre-blended mortars compared to conventional mixing methods. By performing hands-on demonstrations using the audience, the objective is to show the factors that affect mortar quality control, color consistency, testing issues and above all job site productivity.
