Bon Tool Co. Purchases O’Tool

Words: Noah AccordBon Tool Co. has completed its acquisition of O’Tool Co. and certain related assets of this Henderson, Nevada based division of QEP Co., Inc.

The O’Tool Co. supplies of a wide range of tools to the construction market. O’Tool’s product line of hand tools for the trowel trades is comparable to Bon’s product offering. The company serves distributor customers located primarily in the western half of the United States.

In 2008 Bon will begin marketing the acquired products through Bon’s master catalog and on the Bon website. O’Tool and Bon customers will both benefit from the expanded product selection resulting from the acquisition.

Bon will maintain the western distribution center in Nevada in addition to its distribution center in Pennsylvania. Commenting on the acquisition, Bon vice president John Wight says the recent purchase will permit expansion of Bon’s products to western U.S. markets.

“The companies are quite similar in terms of product and distribution, so it was a natural fit. The combined customer base will benefit from greater selection and quicker shipping to both east and west coast locations,” says Wight.

Bon brings 50 years of experience in tool design, manufacturing and marketing to O’Tool’s customer base. The purchase of this tool company should immediately impact sales at Bon as the company will continue to serve O’Tool accounts.
