Has your market been hit by our tilt-up competitors? Have you lost projects to tilt-up? Have you noticed it creeping into your school construction market yet? If you are like most of your fellow MCAA members, the answer is probably...YES.

Well, you don't have to sit back and let it happen. This year's convention in Orlando will feature a workshop by nationally-known architect Chris Huckabee who will present information on how we can sell masonry versus tilt-up and win. Chris is an architect that understands the benefits of total masonry construction. In fact, he claims to only build with total masonry and will present some hard facts that show masonry as a far stronger product and a product that can be built at a substantially lower price than tilt-up. This one workshop alone is worth attending the MCAA convention.

In addition to the masonry vs. tilt-up workshop, we will be presenting a two-day Masonry Quality Institute (MQI) workshop which will become the cornerstone of the new national certification program. MQI changes the culture of your company and your employees to actually care about the job that they are doing and to do the job right the first time. Can you imagine what your life would be like if your employees actually made fewer mistake that had to be corrected? How much more money could your company make if you had zero punch list items to go back and correct? That's what MQI is designed to do. Another strong benefit for coming to Orlando.

Lastly, our members have asked that we try to get back with our block producer friends and have a joint trade show. While the Board is still in negotiations with the NCMA, we will both be in Orlando at the same time and have planned some joint events with the producers. The most exciting joint event will be a Closing Night at Universal Studios Theme Park on Saturday, February 24th with the block producers. It will be an exciting night with our friends from the NCMA.

We hope that you will come to this year's convention in Orlando and show your support while participating in a great program. Please be sure to register early and take advantage of the early bird special pricing.

See you in Orlando!
