Westlake Royal Building Products™ Introduces New Board & Batten Profile for Royal® and Exterior Portfolio® Vinyl Siding Lines

Words: Kriss Swint

Westlake Royal Building Products™ (“Westlake Royal”), a Westlake company (NYSE: WLK), has introduced a next-generation Board & Batten profile for its Royal® and Exterior Portfolio® vinyl siding lines.

Maintaining the timeless charm of Board & Batten while offering enhanced performance, the updated design features a taller 5/8" batten, a gracefully curved face for added robustness and batten accentuator beads to create a dimensional and distinctive vertical profile. Its optimized substrate formulation ensures excellent heat retention, further strengthening the panel’s durability. Together, these innovations deliver a beautiful and resilient siding solution that blends the classic look of Board & Batten siding with superior structural stability.

Along with the new profile, Westlake Royal has added two striking new colors to the entire Royal and Exterior Portfolio vinyl siding lines—Eclipse for Royal and Almost Midnight for Exterior Portfolio—catering to the rising demand for dark exteriors that deliver a modern, eye-catching aesthetic.

“Crafting high-quality Board & Batten in dark colors has been an industry challenge for years, and the demand for these shades has only increased over time,” said Steve Booz, vice president of marketing at Westlake Royal Building Products. “We’re thrilled to introduce this reimagined profile, which allows for a vast spectrum of colors while emphasizing the visual appeal that Board & Batten is known for.”

Royal and Exterior Portfolio vinyl siding lines combine the beauty of natural wood with durability and low maintenance. Both feature Chromatix™ technology color protection for long-lasting exteriors, ensuring dark shades don’t fade or need to be painted. Backed by an industry-leading Double Limited Lifetime Warranty, both options withstand hurricane-force winds up to 170 mph, offering lasting performance and style.
