On this episode of the MASONRY STRONG Podcast, Foreman Instructors Donnie Williams, Jameel Ervin, and Tom Vacala join Justin in talking about the changes in masonry education over the years, how they all became good friends, and some of their favorite stories from the classroom!

The Foreman Course: An Evolving Journey

For those stepping into the realm of foreman courses for the first time, understanding what awaits can be daunting. Yet, the trainers have taught these courses 14 times in 12 different states, experiencing everything from the glittering lights of Vegas to the sunlit horizons of Florida and Texas.

A Unique Teaching Approach

Each class begins with the trainers "reading the room," ensuring their teaching resonates with every individual's unique background and experience. This interactive approach starts by asking participants about their journey into masonry. Some might be greenhorns learning the ropes, while others boast decades of field experience—sometimes even both in the same classroom!

The atmosphere is always dynamic and interactive. The classrooms are melting pots of wisdom and fresh perspectives—perfect for fostering both inspiration and learning.

The Essence of Team Chemistry

Donnie, Jameel, and Tom share a bond that's palpable both inside and outside the classroom. Their camaraderie not only fuels the magic of their sessions but sets an example for their students to follow.

Engaging Minds with Interactive Learning

Keeping students engaged for long sessions requires creativity. Enter the "fake brick" toss and other interactive games designed to reignite interest just when things start to lull.

The classes are structured into 45-minute segments, often broken up with breakout activities and hands-on learning sessions. This unconventional approach—combining theory with practical, joyful learning—helps students absorb lessons more effectively.

Donnie, Jameel, and Tom aim to replicate teaching methods that would have resonated with them as young learners who craved movement and hands-on interaction over long lectures.
