STIHL supports maintenance staff of the National September 11 Memorial

Words: Lindsy ShrewberryTo support those that care for the grounds of the National September 11 Memorial, STIHL Inc. is providing outdoor power equipment as well as ongoing operational and safety training to the maintenance and operations crews.

“We all felt the events of September 11 deeply,” said Roger Phelps of STIHL Inc. “Because of the positive power that green spaces have, and because caring for nature and America’s green spaces is at the heart of what we do, this donation was our way of paying our respects to those that lost their lives, and those who keep their memories alive in this sacred place.”

The donation of $20,000 worth of STIHL equipment includes trimmers, blowers, and pruning saws from STIHL’s Battery Kombisystem, selected because of their low noise and zero exhaust emissions.

“We are grateful for the generous support that comes from organizations like STIHL Inc. The equipment and training provided will allow our crews to continue to maintain the beautiful grounds of the memorial,” said Vincent Lupi, Senior Project Manager of Facilities at the 9/11 Memorial

The 9/11 Memorial honors those killed September 11, 2001, as well as those killed in the World Trade Center bombing in 1993.
