Stuart Dean brings new life to the Equitable Building

Words: Jeff ActonStuart Dean, an international provider of renowned architectural restoration services, has recently given a signature landmark in downtown Atlanta new life and renewed curb appeal. The company restored 136,000 sq. ft. of anodized aluminum curtain wall panels on the Equitable Building in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to the cleaning and restoration of the anodized aluminum panels, Stuart Dean also applied a high-performance fluropolymer coating to approximately 9,100 sq. ft. of columns and panels on the ground and second floors. Located at 100 Peachtree Street NW in downtown Atlanta, the Equitable Building is 33 stories high and 453 feet tall.

The building owner, America’s Capital Partners, was seeking a comprehensive solution to protect the enduring value of the building while effectively managing future operating costs.

"Stuart Dean is proud to extend the service life of the exterior anodized façade on one of downtown Atlanta’s oldest high rises that also serves as an iconic part of the city’s skyline," said Mark Parrish, president and CEO of Stuart Dean. "From the application of a modified lacquer coating system and adapting traditional cleaning methods, Stuart Dean prides itself on comprehensive restoration projects such as this."

Stuart Dean associates finished the project a week ahead of schedule and within the client's budget. This allowed the client to begin the glass replacement phase of the restoration ahead of schedule. In addition, Stuart Dean's work did not interfere with the building's day-to-day activities.

Stuart Dean repairs damage to architectural assets and restores surfaces at centuries-old buildings and newly constructed facilities with minimal interruption to business.
