Blueskin SA and SA LT air and vapor membranes

Words: Dan KamysHenry Co.’s Blueskin SA and SA LT 18-inch and 36-inch-wide sheet-applied, non-permeable air and vapor barriers now are imprinted with a high-visibility, branded design that helps contractors promote their use of superior building materials. The products feature an updated Henry Blueskin logo, the product name and the slogan, “Superior Air/Vapor Barrier.”

The new imprint features two Henry Blueskin logos placed top-to-top on an angle in such a way that the logo can be installed vertically or horizontally and can be easily read from either position. Henry Blueskin SA and SA LT non-permeable air barrier membranes have been used to protect structures for more than 20 years, serving as air barriers, vapor barriers and rain barriers. They have been tested to resist air leakage (ASTM E 2178 and ASTM 2357), have low vapor permeance (less than 0.1 perms) and are watertight.

Blueskin SA is a self-adhering membrane consisting of an SBS rubberized asphalt compound laminated on a blue engineered film. Similar to Blueskin SA, Blueskin SA LT is formulated specifically for low-temperature application (minimum application temperature of 10 degrees Fahrenheit/minus 12 degrees Celcius). Blueskin SA and SA LT are designed to install on a variety of prepared substrates. They are self-sealing when penetrated with self-tapping fasteners, and are compatible with Henry Air-Bloc membranes and adhesives. They are sold in 75-foot rolls.
