THERMAL-GRIP ci washer fasteners

Words: Dan KamysRodenhouse Inc.’s patent-pending THERMAL-GRIP line of washer fasteners is designed to attach continuous insulation over steel or wood studs and masonry cavity wall construction.

THERMAL-GRIP washer fasteners are easily field-assembled with commonly used barrel style brick-ties (for example the Pos-I-Tie). By combining the two-inch diameter washer with the brick-tie, the required number of ci fasteners is greatly decreased (ci system manufacturers require a minimum 16-inch vertical and horizontal spacing pattern of screws with washers for proper mechanical attachment.

This reduction of fasteners translates to significant labor and material cost savings, while also decreasing thermal bridging and the number of penetrations through the insulation/air and moisture barrier. THERMAL-GRIP washers are designed to seal the brick-tie penetration against air and moisture migration.
