Alan Griffin presents John Spencer with the C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award
Each year, the Mason Contractors Association of America presents the C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to an individual who has provided exemplary leadership in advancing the masonry industry. All of the individuals who have received this prestigious award have demonstrated a tireless dedication to our industry through years of volunteer support and hard work. They have helped to ensure that our industry remains vital for the nearly 500,000 people employed through masonry.

President Alan Griffin presented the 2006 C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to John Spencer of Spencer Brickwork, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri. "The individual who we are honoring today is, by all standards, a richly deserving recipient. In whatever he has taken on, this individual has always been the first to volunteer."

Spencer was honored for his work throughout the industry over the past few decades. He has served in a wide range of volunteer positions, from chairman of his local promotion group to president of their local chapter. He has also served on numerous national committees and as a Regional Vice President for the Mason Contractors Association of America.

"When you ask others about what they think of our honoree, they simply say that 'I wish I could be more like him.' Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my distinct honor to present the 2006 C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to John Spencer of Spencer Brickwork of St. Louis," said Griffin.
