Andris Berzins
Andris Berzins is a graduate of Indiana University and has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He is a former law enforcement officer in the State of Indiana, and has over 29 years of experience in insurance fraud investigation.
He is the current Team Supervisor of Special Investigations at Federated Insurance, and is responsible for the training and management of Federated’s Special Investigators and other essential anti-fraud personnel, as well as actively investigating alleged cases of insurance fraud.
In 1994, Andris received the National Health Care Anti-fraud Association’s (NHCAA) Private Sector Investigator of the Year Award, as a result of his efforts in investigating and combating health insurance fraud in the United States.
Andris is the former President of the Indiana Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Units. During his tenure, the Indiana Chapter of IASIU was instrumental in the passage of a comprehensive insurance fraud statute in the State of Indiana.
Andris also served for six years as a Director for the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU), representing over 4000 investigators at 600 insurance carriers worldwide.
In 2016, Andris was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Association of Special Investigation Units in recognition of his many contributions to the organization and the fight against insurance fraud in the United States and worldwide.
