Masonry Madness®

Four competitions in one day, out in the Bronze Lot. Apprentices and journeymen build against the clock in front of the largest crowd of the week, and the winners leave Las Vegas with a title the whole trade recognizes.

The first night of Convention week belongs to GEN NXT. 🏁 In 2027, we’re taking over F1 Arcade from 4:30–7:30 PM — and all are welcome.

Three hours of open bar. Food worth showing up for. Full-motion race simulators. And the whole room racing head-to-head. Contractors, Suppliers, Estimators & Project Managers — of every generation, all in one room, kicking off Convention week together before the show floor even opens.

Education

MCAA runs its own sessions through Convention week, separate from the World of Concrete seminar program. Four are on the 2027 schedule, two of them brand new.

Rebuilt with masonry leaders from across the country for both new and experienced foremen. Contracts and estimating, budgeting and tracking, communication tools, time management, and what bad quality assurance actually costs. Taught by three very experienced masons.

Las Vegas Convention Center

Four hours on delivering masonry that passes inspection the first time. Recognising and documenting issues on joints, coursing, plumb, ties and embeds; verifying materials against ASTM standards; and pulling what matters out of Division 04 specs. Attendees leave with checklists and sample forms.

Las Vegas Convention Center

The 2024 IBC and IRC changed the bonding mortars adhered veneer can use. How modified mortars differ from Type S and Type N in mixing, handling and application, with hands-on demonstrations of the right and the wrong way to do it. Thirty minutes in a classroom, an hour out in the lot.

Classroom, then the Bronze Lot

Four hands-on stations with GEORGE, MCAA’s purpose-built AI. Wear HeatGuard and let it flag heat stress early, watch live cameras catch missing PPE the moment it happens, check a wall’s bracing before the wind does, then scan finished work with LIDAR and hunt failed ties inside a simulated century-old wall. Ends with an outdoor reception.

MCAA contractor members get World of Concrete show floor registration at no cost. Everyone else pays World of Concrete’s standard rates, so if you are bringing a crew, membership is worth working out before you book.

Registration for 2027 has not opened yet. World of Concrete will take your name now and tell you the day it does.
