Project Description

The remodeling of the Palatine High School Kitchen required new walls to be constructed in areas where food was to be prepared and served. Extensive use of Structural Glazed Facing Tile (SGFT) was the answer. Structural Glazed Facing Tile was chosen as it provided strength, fire safety, durability and a wide option of colors and shapes. Use of the 8â€ù x 16â€ù SGFT allowed horizontal and vertical rebar to be installed in the walls for strength. The durability of the ceramic finish was also an important design decision.
