Jack Davis Jr. passes away

In memoriam

By

Jack Davis Jr., a retired, long-time masonry instructor in Eastern North Carolina, has passed away.

Nancy St. John with Adams, an Oldcastle company, in Goldsboro, N.C., worked with Davis for years at Adams’ annual Eastern North Carolina High School Masonry Contest, which is now called the H.A. “Butch” Hardy Memorial Contest.

“After his retirement, Mr. Davis continued helping with our masonry contest as a judge up until this past contest,” says St. John. “He was a dedicated teacher and a wonderful person. He will be greatly missed in our community.”

Davis was 71 and lived in Kinston, N.C. He was inducted into the National Masonry Instructors
Association Hall of Fame in 2012.
