A world of skills

Pitchers and catchers have reported to spring training, so no baseball reference will be left unturned: This year’s Masonry Madness Day really knocked it out of the park.

Masonry Madness was held during the 2015 World of Concrete/World of Masonry show in Las Vegas last month. During Masonry Madness, the MCAA is able to showcase some of the best talent in the world through its MCAA Masonry Skills Challenge and Fastest Trowel on the Block competitions. Spec Mix held its BRICKLAYER 500 competition as well, so the day was full of mudslinging skills and incomparable bricklaying and block-laying prowess.

World of Concrete/World of Masonry reportedly exceeded expectations, drawing more than 55,000 registered professionals (1,500 companies). The MCAA held its Annual Convention throughout the week, which was heavily attended as well. Education, networking and the kind of fun you can only have in Vegas made the week a success for mason contractors in attendance.

You can catch coverage of the MCAA Annual Convention on p. 14 and World of Concrete on p. 20 of the March issue of Masonry.
